Heroes and Villains

Twats of the Week - Warner Music Group

Who? The third-largest major record conglomerate in the world.

Why? It came to light this week that WMG banned indie legend Edwyn Collins from putting his track A Girl Like You onto his own MySpace page. Hey WMG, how does Murdoch's cock taste?

Legend of the Week - Edwyn Collins

Who? Former Orange Juice singer and generally lovely Scottish man.

Why? Collins - a recovering stroke victim - kicked up a fuss after WMG took him to task for attempting to make a song which he wrote and recorded himself available for his fans to download for free (download it here for nothing). It's refreshing to see a musician publicly stand up against a major label and promote his art rather than cave in to the 'profit-is-the-ultimate-goal' agenda of the big label bullies. Go Edwyn!

Greg.
